From midterm exam study sessions and career fairs to cultural events and sustainability lectures, here’s a list of activities to add to your calendar: 

Nollywood Night 

September 25, 7 p.m.9:30 p.m., Damen Cinema   

Celebrate Nigerian culture through the world of Nollywood with the Nigerian Student Association. The event includes the showing of a hit Nigerian film, snacks, and the chance to learn about the country’s growing film industry.  

MGC Yardshow 

September 25, 6 p.m.–8 p.m., Norville Entrance  

Join Sorority and Fraternity Life to learn about the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC). As part of Greek Week, this event will showcase all of MGC’s organizations on campus.  

Una Noche de Encanto 

September 27, 7:30 p.m., Jo Ann Rooney Hall  

This award-winning musical program is coming to Loyola in celebration of Latine Heritage Month. Featuring Loyola’s own Symphony Orchestra, UniversityChorale, and University Singers, as well as guest artists, the program merges classical opera, piano, and bolero traditions.  

Sharon Farmer Medieval Studies Lecture 

September 29, 4 p.m.–5 p.m., School of Environmental Sustainability Room 123

Join the Medieval Studies Program for Sanctity and Everyday Life: How Being a Linen Merchant led Jehanne la Fouacière to Imitate the Sanctity of Saint Louis, a lecture from Sharon Farmer, professor emerita at the University of California, Santa Barbara. 

Long Night Against Procrastination  

September 29, 7 p.m.–11 p.m., Damen Den 

Rather than procrastinating on a midterm paper or reflection essay, bring your ideas and drafts to the Writing Center’s Long Night Against Procrastination. Writing tutors, snacks, and beverages will be available for all students. 

Quinlan Career Week  

September 29–October 3, Schreiber Center

Quinlan Career Week offers various opportunities for students to engage with businesses, alumni, and industry panels through a series of speakers and events. Check out the schedule to learn more.  

Coffee and Climate 

September 30, 6 p.m.–7 p.m., Damen MPR 

Net Impact will host Coffee and Climate to explore the intersections of coffee, climate, and sustainability. Coffee and pastries will be provided by local Chicago coffee company necessary+sufficient. 

Wellness Fair 

October 1, 12 p.m.–4 p.m., Damen MPR 

Learn more about the health and wellness resources available to students at the Wellness Fair, presented by the Wellness Center. The fair will offer flu shots, HIV/STI testing, massages, and giveaways while supplies last.  

Glowtober 

October 1, 6 p.m.–8 p.m., Damen Den 

Start off October with a light-hearted event by joining the Department of Programming for Glowtober. Create lanterns, decorate with autumn visuals, and enjoy seasonal desserts to get into the fall spirit.  

46th Annual Cross Country vs Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational 

October 3, 10 a.m., Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course 

The Loyola Cross Country teams will play host to the 46th annual Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational at the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course on Chicago’s north side. Students from participating schools will receive free admission with a valid student ID. 

Men’s Soccer vs. Fordham 

October 4, 3 p.m., Loyola Soccer Park  

For students staying on campus during Mid-semester Break, spend an afternoon cheering on the Men’s Soccer team in their match against Fordham.  

2025 Information & Technology Showcase 

October 7, 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Damen Student Center  

Explore technology and library resources available to the Loyola community at the annual Information & Technology Showcase, cohosted by University Libraries and Information Technology Services. Enjoy networking, food, giveaways, and breakout sessions, all while learning more about Loyola’s resources. 

The Unfinished Educator  

 October 8, 6 p.m., Palm Court 

The School of Education presents the 2025 Installment of the John M. Wozniak Lecture Series. This year’s event, which is held in honor of the founding dean, will feature a conversation about the evolving world of education with alumni and leading local voices in education. 

Ignatian Heritage Month Art Contest  

October 8–November 2 

Ahead of Ignatian Heritage Month in November, Ramblers are invited to reflect on Ignatian values through art by entering the Ignatian Heritage Month Art Contest. Submissions will be open from October 8 to November 2, and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
