The year may be drawing to a close, but there’s still plenty to do at Loyola. Find athletic events, holiday performances, and a film screening, all happening at Loyola during the month of December.

Christmas in Chicago Film Screening

December 1, 7 p.m., Crown Center Auditorium 

Join Alumni Relations for a free screening of Christmas in Chicago, hosted by Mark Nathan (BA ’03), before the film’s limited theatrical release on December 12. And be sure to also stick around for a short discussion and Q&A after the movie, with Mark and his production team. 

De-Stress Fest 

December 2, 11 a.m.1 p.m., Schreiber Center Lobby 

De-stress before finals season with Quinlan Ambassadors for giveaways, treats, and a visit from therapy dogs.  

Art and Faith of the Crèche  

December 3-23, Loyola University Museum of Art 

Explore Art and Faith of the Crèche at LUMA. The 20th anniversary celebration features handcrafted Nativity scenes and invites visitors to witness the spirit of the holiday season through art.  

Joyola  

December 4, 7:30 p.m.–9 p.m., Jo Ann Rooney Hall 

Join the Jazz Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and Wind Ensemble for this annual tradition of holiday and seasonal music.  

Desserts in December  

December 5, 5 p.m.–7 p.m., Damen Student Center MPR 

Enjoy some dessert with the Center for Student Inclusion and Belonging at their annual end of semester gathering.  

Chamber Ensemble Recital 

December 5, 7 p.m., Skowronski Music Hall, Mundelein Center for the Fine and Performing Arts 

Hear instrumental works performed by small chamber ensembles.   

Fall Dance Informance  

December 5, 7:30 p.m., Newhart Family Theatre, Mundelein Center for the Fine and Performing Arts  

Celebrate the achievements of students in Loyola’s dance courses at the Fall Dance Informance, featuring a varied program of jazz, global dance, modern, and ballet. Tickets are sold out, but standby tickets will be available one hour prior to the performance.  

Men’s Basketball vs. Princeton 

December 6, 1:30 p.m.–3:30 p.m., Gentile Arena 

Cheer on the Ramblers in their game against Princeton. In honor of the holidays, there will be a ‘Bler on the Bench giveaway.  

Lessons and Carols  

December 6, 7:30 p.m., Madonna della Strada Chapel  

Hear holiday liturgical music performed by Loyola’s choral ensembles at Madonna della Strada Chapel. Tickets are sold out, but standby tickets will be available one hour prior to the performance in the Information Commons.  

Review on Retreat 

December 6-7, Loyola Retreat and Ecology Campus 

Take a break with a retreat at LUREC. Enjoy a quiet weekend studying and preparing for the end of the semester.  

Women’s Basketball vs. Western Michigan 

December 7, 1 p.m.–3 p.m., Gentile Arena  

In need of a study break before the first day of finals? See the Women’s Basketball team take on Western Michigan. 

Finals Breakfast 

December 9, 7:30p.m.–9 p.m., Damen Student Center 

Reserve your spot for Finals Breakfast, a finals week tradition where students can get a free meal and connect with friends during the stress of the week. Breakfast will be provided in the dining hall, and other events will take place in the Den, MPR, and Ireland’s.  

2025 Christmas Reception  

December 18, 2 p.m.–4 p.m., Damen Student Center  

Loyola faculty, staff, and retirees are invited to enjoy festive food and beverages and participate in the holiday spirit contest by attending the 2025 Christmas Reception.
