Preparing offices and workspaces for winter

To care for our campus, Ramblers should take a few steps to ensure residence halls and workspaces are prepared for break.

  • Make sure all doors and windows are closed and locked, and all blinds and drapes are shut.
  • Double-check that your thermostat is on.
  • Report any facility malfunctions or issues, such as faucet leaks or heating problems, here
  • Close laboratory fume hood sashes and power down nonessential lab equipment.
  • Power down computers, monitors, printers, and other nonessential equipment.
  • Unplug microwaves, empty fridges, and coffee makers.
  • Make sure all lights, including Christmas lights, and faucets are turned off.
