
Loyola University Chicago graduate programs recognized in U.S. News & World Report

Loyola University Chicago’s graduate programs have once again been recognized for local and national excellence in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings. Offered through full-time, part-time, online, and on-campus formats, Loyola’s graduate programs combine rigorous academics, career skills, and values-based leadership, preparing students to make an impact in Chicago and far beyond. Through innovative learning and a strong sense of purpose, Loyola equips graduates to address real-world challenges and serve their communities.
The rankings reaffirm the School of Law’s leadership in providing a comprehensive and practical legal education:
- Part-time Law JD: No. 1 in Chicago, Illinois, and the Midwest, and #15 in the nation
- Health Care Law: No. 1 in Chicago and Illinois, and #4 in the nation
- Trial advocacy: Top 3 in Chicago and #27 in the nation
Other rankings highlighted Loyola’s strengths in education, business, and health care:
- Education (graduate degrees): Top 3 in Chicago and #95 in the nation
- MBA program (part-time): Top 3 in Chicago and #44 in the nation
- Doctor of Nursing Practice: Top third in the nation
- Public Health (graduate program): Top 30% in the nation
U.S. News and World Report does not publish yearly rankings for graduate social work programs. Loyola’s School of Social Work was No. 28 nationally in the most recent rankings cycle, which positions Loyola second among all Jesuit colleges and universities and No. 2 in Chicago.
According to its website, U.S. News & World Report’s ranking methodology for graduate schools is based on “expert opinion about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s academic productivity and postgraduate outcomes.” More information about the 2026 graduate school rankings can be found at the U.S. News Best Graduate Schools website.
