CHICAGO – Loyola University Chicago will confer degrees on nearly 4,800 undergraduate and graduate students throughout its 155th annual Commencement Week from May 4 to 10 on the Lake Shore Campus.

Alongside the festivities, many schools, colleges, institutes, and University departments will host distinct receptions and academic events honoring student achievements. More than 20,600 family members, friends, and guests are expected on campus to celebrate the occasion.

Eleven esteemed individuals will deliver keynote speeches at the ceremonies for the graduates of Loyola’s colleges, schools, and institutes, including several distinguished Loyola alumni, such as Pablo Di Si (BBA ’94), former president and chief executive officer of Volkswagen Group of America, and Amber A. Hewitt (PhD ’13), counseling psychologist and equity scholar.

The University announced in March that it will confer the degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, on Mary L. Smith, JD (BS ’84) for her visionary leadership and longstanding commitment to the common good and service to others. Smith is a prominent attorney, business executive, and trailblazing leader who served as President of the American Bar Association from 2023–2024, becoming the first Native American woman to hold the role.

Complete details of the graduation events are posted, and livestreams of the ceremonies will be shared on LUC.edu/commencement.
