Residence hall move-out

Students living in residence halls must move out within 24 hours of their last final exam or by Monday, May 5, at noon—whichever comes first.

Tips for a green summer

The Office of Sustainability encourages the Loyola community to take small steps toward a greener summer:

  • Participate in the Think Green and Give program from May 1-4 in the residence halls. Students can donate clothes, food, non-perishables, and household goods to local nonprofits as they move out for the summer. In 2024, Loyola donated over 11,00 pounds of clothing, shoes, food, and household goods during the charitable collection event. Sign up to volunteer May 1-8 to sort donations from Loyola’s move-out donation program by emailing sustainability@LUC.edu.
  • Visit LUC.edu/recycle for guidelines on spring cleaning, including information on what goes in the blue bins and how to recycle harder-to-dispose-of items like electronics and plastic film.
  • Participate in Loyola’s annual Bike Commuter Challenge by biking to work and campus. Coordinated by Active Transportation Alliance, the friendly competition promotes biking to campus by encouraging employees to log bike commuting trips and awarding the top Loyola riders. More information on this year’s competition and how to participate will be shared soon. You can read about previous years’ details and winners here.
