Knit and Crochet Club Tutorial Night 

January 29, 6 p.m.–7 p.m., Simpson MPR 

Ramblers looking for a new hobby can learn how to knit or crochet at the first Knit and Crochet Club event of the semester. Beginners are welcome, and supplies will be provided.  

Loyola Dance Expo 

January 30, 4 p.m.–7 p.m., Damen Den 

Join several of Loyola’s dance student organizations, including the Swing Dancing Club, Scorch Hip Hop Dance Team, Latin Dance Club, Rambler Raas, and more, for a night of dance choreography instruction, performances, and free food 

Men’s Volleyball vs. Manhattan  

January 30, 7 p.m., Gentile Arena 

Cheer on the Men’s Volleyball team as they face off against Manhattan.  

SES Urban Agriculture at the Edgewater Indoor Market  

January 31, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., 5917 N Broadway  

Students in the School of Environmental Sustainability’s Urban Agriculture program grow produce in the school’s greenhouse and sell it at the Edgewater Indoor Market on select Saturdays in winter.  

Roman Tragedy Today: Digesting Thyestes Presentation 

January 31, 4 p.m., Underground Laboratory Theatre  

The Classics and Theatre departments will present an Interdisciplinary Staged Reading of selections from the Roman tragedy Thyestes, exploring parallels between the classic text and the current political moment.  

Men’s Basketball vs. La Salle 

February 3, 7 p.m.–9 p.m., Gentile Arena  

Show some school spirit and watch the Men’s Basketball team take on La Salle. Students will receive windbreakers while supplies last.  

Campus Climate Town Hall  

February 5, 11:30 a.m., Damen Student Center  

Learn about key findings from the Ranking Campus Climate Survey and how these findings will inform institutional priorities and decision-making. A virtual webinar option is also available.  

Black Voices Uninterrupted

Join the Loyola Black Student Union for spoken word, poetry, music, storytelling, and live performances. The annual showcase is a celebration of voice and community.  

Women’s Basketball vs. VCU   

February 7, 2 p.m.–4 p.m., Gentile Arena 

Celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day by supporting the Women’s Basketball team in their game against VCU.  

Marques Garrett Concert and Lecture 

February 8, 3 p.m., Madonna della Strada Chapel  

Composer, conductor, and scholar Marques Garrett will lead Ignatian Voices, Schola, University Chorale, and University Singers as they perform a program of music by Black composers. The event will include a short lecture on the programmed music presented by Garrett.  

Lecture with Brandi Berry, Indigenous Music Traditions 

February 11, 4 p.m., Skowronski Music Hall 

Join Brandi Berry, a violinist, composer, and instructor on Baroque and Native American music, for a lecture on Indigenous music traditions.  

A Midsummer Night’s Dream 

February 12-22, 7:30 p.m.–10 p.m., Newhart Family Theatre  

See the opening night performance of Shakespeare’s beloved comedy, directed by Mark E. Lococo, coinciding with Chicago Theater Week. Later this month, the February 19 performance will be followed by a post-show discussion.
