Things To Do at Loyola: July

From music performances and art exhibitions to retreat opportunities, there are plenty of activities happening at Loyola this summer. Here’s a selection of events to add to your calendar in July:  

Edgewater Farmers Market 

Every Monday June-September, 3 p.m.–7 p.m., Broadway Armory Parking Lot  

Stop by the Edgewater Farmers Market to purchase produce grown on Loyola’s campus by the School of Environmental Sustainability’s Urban Agriculture Program. Learn more about the program’s growing techniques and efforts to grow sustainable produce in the city here.  

Quinlan 101 

July 8, 12:30 p.m., Zoom  

Interested in learning more about the graduate programs at the Quinlan School of Business? Graduate and Professional Admissions will host an information session to explore programs offered at Quinlan, the application process, and financial aid. 

Freedom in Form: Richard Hunt 

July 11-November 15, Loyola University Museum of Art 

The Loyola University Museum of Art (LUMA) will host Freedom in Form: Richard Hunt, a special exhibition that showcases the renowned Chicago sculptor’s art and explores the history that inspired his work. Admission is free for Loyola students, faculty, and staff. 

July Organ Concert Series: Caroline Robinson 

July 20, 3 p.m., Madonna della Strada  

Enjoy a special organ performance by Caroline Robinson in the Madonna della Strada chapel. The performance is free and open to the public.

JUMP Retreat 

July 23-24, Loyola University Recreation and Ecology Campus (LUREC) 

Incoming M1 students at the Stritch School of Medicine are invited to attend the JUMP Retreat to build community and reflect ahead of the start of their medical education. Led by M2s, the retreat will include small group conversations, activities, and Q&A sessions at the LUREC campus. 

School of Education Chips and Sips 

July 23, 4 p.m., Flaco’s Taco’s Water Tower Location 

The School of Education will host an informational meeting for students interested in pursuing a master’s degree at the School of Education. The event will help connect students to faculty, staff, and fellow prospective students to prepare for graduate studies at Loyola.  

Let’s Talk Tariffs 

July 29, 1 p.m., Zoom  

The Family Business Center in the Quinlan School of Business will host a discussion with Joe Quinlan, managing direct and head of market strategy for the Chief Investment Office at Bank of America, to discuss how current and proposed tariffs could affect family enterprises.  

Feast Day of St. Ignatius of Loyola 

July 31, 11 a.m., West Quad of the Lake Shore Campus 

Faculty, staff, and retirees are invited to attend the Feast Day of St. Ignatius of Loyola, who passed away on July 31, 1556. The event will begin with a Mass in Madonna della Strada at 11 a.m., followed by a picnic on the West Quad and in the Damen Student Center.
