It’s summer at Loyola, but there’s still plenty to do on campus. Throughout the month of June, enjoy concert performances at Madonna della Strada, cheer on Rambler sports, and build skills at informative seminars. Here are a selection of events to add to your calendar:  

 

Quinlan 101 

June 5, noon-12:30 p.m., Zoom  

Want to learn more about graduate programs at the Quinlan School of Business? Graduate and Professional Admissions will be hosting an informational session to guide prospective students through the application process, programs offered, and financial aid.  

 

Ideas that Travel: Crafting Brand Narratives for the Digital Ecosystems 

June 5, 6 p.m. – 7 p.m., Zoom 

The School of Communication and Graduate and Professional Admission will host Desmond LaVelle, EVP Executive Creative Director from FCB Chicago to discuss building brand narratives across media landscapes. LaVelle’s discussion will explore the tools, frameworks, and creative ideas behind today’s most effective brand strategies.  

 

Towards Responsible AI: Challenges and Strategies 

June 9, noon, Zoom 

The Office of Global and Community Engagement (OGCE) will host a panel discussion to explore the opportunities and pressing social challenges presented by new AI applications. Moderated by Joseph Vukov, associate professor and associate director of the Hank Center for the Catholic Intellectual Heritage, this event is the second webinar in OGCE’s AI in a Globalized World series.  

 

June Organ Concert Series: Bradley Hunter Welch 

June 15, 3 p.m., Madonna della Strada 

Enjoy a special performance of the pipe organ in the Madonna della Strada chapel. The event is free and open to the public. Learn more about the history and innerworkings of the chapel’s pipe organ.  

 

Title IX and Civil Rights Update 

June 24, 3:30 p.m.-4:15 p.m., Zoom  

Join Dan Schorr and Alyssa-Rae McGinn, hosts of the Title IX and Civil Rights Podcast, as they provide an update on Title XI and civil rights investigations in light of the current evolving legal landscape. This event is part of Loyola’s 12th Annual Education Law: A Year in Review.  

 

Pride Celebration  

June 25, noon-2 p.m., Sister Jean Multipurpose Room  

The Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will host its annual PRIDE reception to uplift the LBGTQIA+ community at Loyola. Lunch will be provided. This event is open to all faculty, staff, and students.
