Forbes has named Loyola University Chicago to its 2026 America’s Top Colleges list, recognizing Loyola’s success in delivering high-quality education, strong career outcomes, and exceptional value for students across diverse backgrounds.

Forbes ranks colleges and universities based on measures that matter most to students and families: return on investment, average student debt levels, and graduates’ long-term success. In addition to its national recognition, Loyola also earned placements in several key categories:

  • No. 41 in the Midwest
  • No. 135 in Private Colleges
  • No. 158 in Research Universities

Loyola continues to enroll and support students from a wide range of financial backgrounds and create pathways to success. Loyola provides robust financial aid and student support services, helping undergraduates access and complete their education.

“This recognition reflects Loyola’s commitment to academic excellence, affordability, and meaningful student outcomes,” said Provost Douglas W. Woods. “A Loyola education prepares students not just to succeed but have a positive impact on the world.”

The Forbes list spotlights the nation’s top 500 institutions out of thousands of four-year colleges and universities across the United States, reflecting where students achieve strong returns on their educational investment.
