A gift in support of Loyola University Chicago’s Baumhart Scholars Master of Business Administration program is providing expanded funding for Baumhart Scholars working in the nonprofit sector.
The distinctive Baumhart Scholars MBA focuses on social impact, bringing together leaders from the for-profit, nonprofit and public sectors in each cohort. This distinctive educational experience accelerates business skills for a better world, with a rigorous MBA curriculum addressing social and environmental topics in all classes. Students collaborate on class projects focusing on socially responsible ideas and practices that blend profit and purpose. The new investment will support scholars working in nonprofit organizations.
The highly selective program draws students from the social, private, and government sectors to a program that harnesses the power of business and business planning in addressing issues like sustainability, entrepreneurial equity, healthcare delivery, and human services.
A recent anonymous gift expands the program. “This generous commitment accelerates the growth of the Baumhart Scholars MBA by more than doubling the number of scholarships available to scholars working in the nonprofit sector,” says Karen Weigert, director of the Baumhart Center for Social Enterprise and Responsibility at Loyola’s Quinlan School of Business. “This expands opportunities and connections among a diverse community of scholars, alumni, and stakeholders who are together driving change at the intersection of profit and purpose.”
The Baumhart Scholars MBA program currently counts more than 115 leaders among its scholars and alumni. With this added funding, the total will surpass 200 alumni by 2027.
Prospective Baumhart Scholars can learn more about these opportunities on January 7 for an application walk-through or attend a January 14 virtual info session to hear from scholars. Early application deadline: January 31.
