Following a comprehensive institutional evaluation throughout the 2024-2025 academic year, the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) reaffirmed Loyola University Chicago’s accreditation. The reaffirmation reflects the University’s commitment to providing high-quality education and adherence to excellence standards.
The 2025 reaccreditation process was a community effort. Faculty, staff, and students all played a role—through contributing to the written Assurance Argument, participating in a student survey, engaging in information sessions, and meeting with HLC representatives during their campus site visits.
Receiving reaccreditation by the HLC is essential for Loyola. This milestone affirms the University’s educational quality, ensures compliance with federal standards, and allows students to remain eligible for federal financial aid assistance and loans. Loyola has been continuously accredited by the HLC since 1921, with the previous reaffirmation in 2015. The University’s next reaccreditation is scheduled for 2034-2035.
