
The Loyola University Chicago Board of Trustees elected Rocco J. Martino (MBA ’78) as Board Chair and Molly E. Cullum and Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, as Trustees, at its Annual Meeting on April 30.
Martino will a serve two-year term. Cullum and Donohue will each serve three-year terms.
The Board recognized the dedicated service of outgoing Board Chair John G. Schreiber (BBA ’68), appointing him as a Life Trustee for his significant contributions. The Board also extended its gratitude to other Trustees concluding their terms, Rev. Robert L. Niehoff, S.J., (BBA ’66) and Kevin W. Willer.
Eleven current Trustees were re-elected to three-year renewed terms: Ellen S. Alberding, Omar A. Brown (MBA ’07), Jennifer M. Carolan (BA ’97), Walter C. Deye, S.J. (MDiv ’77), Brian W. Fitzpatrick (BA ’92), Alicia Gonzalez, Rick Hammond, Antonio Ortiz (MBA ’05), Elizabeth M. Parkinson (BS ’75, P ’04, ’05, ’07, ’10, ’18), Melody Spann Cooper (BS ’88), and Bryan S. Traubert.
New Board Chair
Rocco J. Martino (MBA ’78) is a founder of OCEANM19 LLC, a Chicagoland-based, single-family investment office. Prior to founding OM19, Martino co-founded LaSalle Capital, a private equity fund focused on lower middle market buyouts and served as a General Partner from 2004 to 2021. Prior to joining LaSalle Capital, Martino was a Partner at Price Waterhouse Coopers in Chicago from 1978 to 1989. Martino was elected to the Loyola Board of Trustees in 2015. He is currently Chairman of the Endeavor Healthcare System Board of Trustees, a member of Notre Dame’s IDEA Center Advisory Council, member and former Chairman of the Advisory Council for Quinlan School of Business, a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, and member and former Chairman of the Illinois Venture Capital Association (“IVCA”) Board of Directors. Martino holds a BBA in finance from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Loyola. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois.
New Trustees
Molly Cullum serves as Vice President, Strategic Initiatives for Schreiber Philanthropy. Since 2019, she has supported the organization’s growth in terms of both strategy and grantmaking. Molly also manages Schreiber Philanthropy’s health and early childhood portfolios. In this capacity, Molly works in deep partnership with grantees and partners to enhance the impact of Schreiber Philanthropy’s investments. Prior to her career in philanthropy, Molly spent nearly a decade in the strategic communications and crisis management industry. Most recently, she helped build the agency’s global corporate healthcare practice with a specialty in issues of preparedness and crisis response. She has worked on various public health initiatives surrounding neglected tropical diseases, infectious diseases, and mosquito-borne illnesses, including meaningful work on chikungunya, dengue, Ebola, flu, norovirus, and Zika. Molly graduated magna cum laude from Villanova University with a BA in English Literature.
Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, has served as Villanova University’s 32nd president since June 1, 2006. Under his leadership, the University has charted a course of significant transformation, including the development and initiation of two ambitious strategic plans, enhancement of the intellectual and scholarly climate, dramatic expansion of student opportunities, a vibrant physical campus renovation and expansion, and the launch of two comprehensive fundraising campaigns. Bolstered by this vision, the University has introduced new initiatives, become more nationally recognized for its academic prowess, and broken University admission records. Fr. Peter has also collaborated with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and parents to strengthen the Villanova community and reaffirm its commitment to the institution’s Augustinian, Catholic educational mission. Fr. Peter serves on the boards of Villanova, Malvern Preparatory School, St. Augustine Preparatory School, Cristo Rey High School Philadelphia, and the Big East Conference. He earned a PhD from the University of Illinois, MDiv from the Washington Theological Union, MA from Catholic University, and BA from Villanova University.
