Search committee begins work to find next dean of the University Libraries

A search committee of faculty, staff, and students has begun work to identify top candidates for the next dean of the University Libraries. The 16-member committee is conducting a broad search locally, nationally, and internationally.

Marianne Ryan, dean of the University Libraries, announced she will step down as dean on June 30, 2025. The committee’s first priority is to identify candidates who are committed to fostering a thriving academic and research environment, and all members of the community are encouraged to stay engaged and share their thoughts as the search progresses. 

Rev. D. Scott Hendrickson, S.J., DPhil, Associate Provost for Global Community Engagement, serves as committee chair.
