
Over the summer, Loyola undertook several construction and renovation projects to enhance Lake Shore Campus facilities and improve spaces for students, faculty, and staff. While some construction efforts continue into the fall, these projects bolster infrastructure and enrich the overall campus experience.
Student athletes hone their skills in the newly renovated golf and softball facilities.
- Golf and Softball Practice Facilities and Mertz Amenity Deck Renovations: The former Mullady Theater was converted into a new home for Loyola’s golf and softball teams, with updated indoor training space and a refreshed rooftop amenity deck for students, faculty and staff.
- 6347 N. Broadway Renovations: Work to repurpose this six-story building will bring five new classrooms, offices, facility services, and an event space online by Fall 2026.
- Campus IT Infrastructure Updates: Upgrades continue to be made to improve the reliability, speed, and capacity of Loyola’s digital infrastructure.
- Cudahy Library Exterior Renovations: Efforts address wear and weathering on the building’s exterior.
- Campion Hall Demolition: Clearing the way for a future academic building for nursing and science, demolition will start in September and is scheduled through the end of 2025.
- Granada Center Storefront Signage: New signage enhancing visibility and creating a more welcoming, unified presence along Sheridan Road. Signage is in fabrication with installation scheduled for early Fall of 2025.
- Ignatius House Roof Renovations: Roof repairs were completed to protect the residence of Loyola’s Jesuit community.
- Madonna della Strada Chapel Exterior Renovations: Roof tile replacement, limestone cleaning, and repairs are preserving the chapel’s iconic beauty and structural integrity. Scaffolding will remain in place through November while work is completed, the chapel will remain open.
- St. Louis Hall Exterior Renovations: Parapet repairs and new windows were installed to improve safety and energy efficiency in this student residence hall.
- Campus Environment Updates: New exterior chairs were added across the Lake Shore Campus to provide outdoor study and relaxation space. Loyola-branded flags were also placed on light poles throughout the campus to inspire Rambler pride. Signage was installed to guide Ramblers and visitors through a tour of Loyola’s Jesuit heritage and mission represented in the University’s buildings, monuments, and memorials.
New campus banners and outdoor seating were placed around the Lake Shore Campus to create a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors to campus.
