Loyola launches Digital Transformation Initiative to modernize core systems

March 16, 2026

Loyola University Chicago has launched the Digital Transformation Initiative (DTI), a multi-year, University-wide effort to modernize the enterprise systems that support how the Loyola community learns, teaches, works, researches, and serves.

The initiative will transform the core platforms that power daily operations across the University—improving how information is shared, how work gets done, and how students, faculty, and staff engage with Loyola’s digital environment.

“This work represents a significant investment in Loyola’s future that will drive progress across all pillars of our strategic plan,” said Loyola President Mark C. Reed. “By transforming the systems that connect our people and our work, we are building a more agile, efficient, and student-centered University that is better equipped to fulfill the promise of a Jesuit education.”

“This initiative is about creating a digital foundation that truly supports the way our community works,” said LeRoy Butler, PhD, vice president for Information Technology and chief information officer. “By modernizing our core platforms, we’re reducing complexity, improving access to information, and building tools that are more intuitive, connected, and responsive to the needs of students, faculty, and staff.”

To support transparency and ongoing communication, Loyola has also launched a new DTI website that will serve as the central hub for project updates, timelines, and resources.

A modernized, more connected Loyola

The Digital Transformation Initiative is upgrading Loyola’s core technology systems to build a more streamlined, intuitive, and connected digital environment for everyone across all campuses.

These improvements support Loyola’s Strategic Plan, strengthening institutional capacity so that academic excellence, student success, and operational effectiveness are easier to achieve and sustain.

By transforming the systems that connect our people and our work, we are building a more agile, efficient, and student-centered University that is better equipped to fulfill the promise of a Jesuit education.
