Alumni Authors Speaker Series: Jaswinder Bolina

The University Libraries welcomes Jaswinder Bolina, (BA ‘00), award winning poet and chair of the English and Creative Writing departments at University of Miami, as part of the Alumni Authors Speaker Series. Bolina will share an excerpt from his book English as a Second Language and Other Poems, and discuss his inspirations.
Earth Day Celebrations
April 10 and 22
The Student Environmental Alliance’s annual EcoProm, taking place from 7 p.m.–9 p.m. in Kasbeer Hall, celebrates sustainability on campus, and attendees are encouraged to wear their best thrifted outfits.
On April 22, the Office of Sustainability’s annual Earth Day Celebration will have music, food, and activities to celebrate our common home.
Reassessing the Emergence of the Gospels

Learn about the Gospels and take part in the important conversations surrounding them with the Hank Center for the Catholic Intellectual Heritage. The conference will feature prominent voices in New Testament scholarship and will explore critical questions related to Gospel research.
Loyola Night at the Chicago Fire

Cheer on the Chicago Fire as they take on Atlanta United FC at Soldier Field. The Loyola University Ticket Pack includes a ticket and a special edition Ramblers/Chicago Fire jersey, with a portion of ticket proceeds benefiting undergraduate students.
Loyola University Chicago Day at the Art Institute
April 11, 11 a.m.–4 p.m., Art Institute of Chicago
Enjoy free admission to the Art Institute of Chicago on April 11 for students, staff, and faculty (Limit of 10 tickets per party), including access to the special Matisse’s Jazz: Rhythms in Color exhibition for the first 150 guests and art-making activities from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Simply show a Loyola ID at the registration table in the Modern Wing lobby to skip the line and claim tickets.
Loyola Student Film Festival
April 12, 12 p.m.–5 p.m., Damen Cinema
Join LUC Film Club for their biggest event of the year, featuring student-made film screenings and awards. Student filmmakers can submit works until the night before the event, and all are welcome to attend.
A Night on the Ton
April 14, 6 p.m.–8 p.m., Simpson MPR
The Department of Programming will transform Loyola into Bridgerton’s London for a night of ballroom dancing, bookmark making, and tea drinking. Enjoy activities inspired by the popular show and book series and have the opportunity to win a free book set.
‘All Majors’ Virtual Internship and Career Fair
April 15, 1 p.m.–5 p.m.
Students studying any subject are invited to attend a virtual career fair to meet with employers and learn about available jobs, internships, and research opportunities.
Spring Music Celebration

See the end of the year concert presented by University Chorale, University Singers, and Symphony Orchestra. The performance will feature the winners of the 2026 Concerto/Aria Competition, an annual Loyola competition held in the fall for Applied Music and Large Ensemble students.
A Jesuit and a Nun Walk into a Bar

Join Campus Ministry, Brother Bobby Nichols, SJ, and Sister Catherine Kirwan-Avila, ACI, of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, for a chat about the Eucharist and its model for repairing and reconciliation. Attendees over 21 will receive a free drink, but students of all ages are welcome to attend.

Dead Man Walking From Accompaniment to the Graphic Novel

This conversation with Sister Helen Prejean, CSJ, will follow her advocacy against the death penalty and how her book was transformed into a graphic novel. Attendees will receive a free copy of the graphic novel.
