Loyola University Chicago kicked off 2025 with moments of service, tradition, and community. From bundled-up Ramblers returning to class to Jesuit Jam festivities and Martin Luther King Service Days, Loyola’s campuses were alive with activity.
Highlights included the Aréanah Preston Memorial Scholarship event at the School of Law and students soaking up winter sunshine at the Water Tower Campus. Explore these moments and more in our January photo gallery.
Ramblers (and their pets) were bundled up for chilly weather during the first week of classes after winter break.
Loyola University Chicago staff and students volunteer for Martin Luther King Service Days at the Health Sciences Campus assembling medical kits and at Chicago Lights near Water Tower Campus processing donated clothing for people experiencing homelessness.
Quinlan School of Business students soak in the winter sunshine from inside the Schreiber building.

The Law School hosts the Areanah Preston Memorial Scholarship event to honor Preston's legacy and celebrate the foundation of her named scholarship. Members of her family, the Chicago Police Department, and Mayor Brandon Johnson attended the event to recognize her contributions to the community.
Students attend Jesuit Jam festivities—featuring games, prizes, and pizza—before the men's basketball game against Fordham in Gentile Arena. “It’s a chance for the Jesuits on campus to have a night in public where we can give back to students, give back to the community, give back to the university, and have interactions with students we don’t normally have,” says Benjamin Rogers (MA ’26), a Jesuit Scholastic.
