Following a snowy Chicago winter, spring ushered in opportunities for Loyola students to gather outdoors. Highlights included celebrating Holi—a Hindu holiday marking the arrival of spring—and witnessing a near-total solar eclipse. At the Stritch School of Medicine, physicians-in-training marked a milestone on Match Day, while the graduating Class of 2024 toasted their academic accomplishments during Commencement Week.
The summer months brought transition and exploration. Loyola welcomed new deans and a provost to campus, while students abroad immersed themselves in the local culture, history, and traditions of France and Italy.
As fall began, the Rambler community celebrated the 105th birthday of Sister Jean and greeted the Class of 2028 during Welcome Week. With vibrant fall colors marking the change of seasons, followed by holiday cheer filling the air as students prepared for final exams and the end of the semester.

Winter
Spring semester starts and Ramblers settle in to a winter wonderland on campus.

Hundreds gather in the Damen Student Center to wish Sister Jean a happy 105th birthday in August. Later, President Joe Biden sent a Presidential Proclamation for Sister Jean in recognition of her lifetime of service. “As you have walked your faith throughout the years, your servant leadership and steadfast prayers have shaped the lives of thousands of young people and their families and inspired countless others throughout the world,” Biden said.
As summer comes to an end, the Class of 2028 moves in to on-campus housing.
The incoming Class of '28 participates in Welcome Week traditions, like walking through the Cudahy Library doors, Water Tower Campus Block Party, movies on the quad, and Pack the Park.
Fall
Students settled into life at Loyola, attending class, making friends, and participating in campus life.
